We’re delighted to be bringing Xenia Rubinos to Manchester!

Xenia Rubinos announces European tour dates this winter in support of her widely praised Magic Trix album, released on Ba Da Bing! Records (Beirut, Comets on Fire, tUnEyArDs, Sharon Van Etten). After touring Spain and Italy earlier this year, she will return to perform at the FaceZ Festival, Wintercamp Festivaland State-X New Forms Festival. In addition, Xenia Rubinos will debut in Germany, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom – including her first appearance in Manchester.

Brooklynite Xenia Rubinos performs as a duo with drummer/producer Marco Buccelli and has garnered national and international attention from NPR, The Wall Street Journal and Pitchfork among others. This powerful duo commands the stage with danceable beats, soulful vocals and eclectic rhythms drawn from Cuban, Puerto Rican and American roots. Altogether, it’s a performance infused with energy that pushes the boundaries of alternative beat pop.

‘Repetition-heavy compositions of funky bass; smashing, crashing, Animal-aggro drums; warm organs; sudden pauses; and the primary instrument — Rubinos’s voice—ascend into fetching noise towers and tumble, again and again, stretching the possibilities of notes’ – Time Out New York

‘Like Poly Styrene collaborating with Death Grips’ – NME Radar

Support comes from Manchester ‘turbo-prog’ duo Cleft.
