We’re delighted to be helping The Happy Soul unveil their new album!

The Happy Soul proudly present the first live performance of their third LP, Golden Wander.

The Happy Soul have a curious blend of influences. At one moment soft and hushed, much like Nina Simone at her most blue, the next frantic and angular like the twin guitars of Television. Their understanding of the subversion of pop music is writ large across their back catalogue in bold, garish colours.

Big Wow, the second album from The Happy Soul, is an enjoyable blend of strong harmonies, pop panache and swingin’ highs relived, when necessary, by just the right amount of melancholy dreaminess. Influences include Frank Zappa, Jake Thackray, Mahalia Jackson, Scott Walker, Nilsson and The Beach Boys – all of which the band is able to synthesise into a cohesive and robust sound’ – Adam Lowe, Vada Magazine

‘Parasite is what you’d want a proper pop song to sound like, clever lyrics, a dead catchy chorus, and incredibly charming’ – Jon Milton, New Music Social

‘The songs are very modern in their knowing wit, poetic surrealism and Belfast-sink melodrama. Some of them take unexpected twists and turns; others are comforting in their crafted popsong-ness. But what they all have in common is that they’ll stick in your head, become earworms and generally make themselves part of your life’ – Invisible Girl Records
