We’re looking forward to be working with Story Books – who recently played with Public Service Broadcasting for us.

Kent five-piece Story Books are thrilled to announce the release of their sophomore EP, From Post To Post, due out on 17 March through Communion. The EP was self-produced, then put in to the ever-capable hands of Tony Doogan (Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai), who successfully brings the intensity of the band’s lauded live show to each of the recordings.

They are giving fans a taster of the new material, through a special seasonal stream of the stunning White Maid, which features in the forthcoming release.

2013 was particularly eventful for Story Books, who released their debut EP, Too Much A Hunter, to widespread acclaim. Receiving Radio 1 support from Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Phil & Alice and Jen & Ally, the band were also playlisted at XFM, with whom they recorded the first ever XFM and Communion-backed live session EP New Faces.

Having shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, who they were on the bill supporting WITH in Hyde Park, the band subsequently played an impressive live circuit this past year, which included SxSW, T In The Park, Bestival, The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, Bushstock and Tramlines festivals, and tours with Public Service Broadcasting, King Charles and Fossil Collective.

‘They make melancholy intensity seem as natural as breathing’ – The Guardian

Main support comes from Race to the Sea, the musical guise of Dan Peacock. Dan has recently shared bills with Badly Drawn Boy and Rebekka Karijord, and his 2013 EP launch sold out the Castle Hotel. All this culminated in the Manchester Evening News naming Race to the Sea as ‘one to watch’.

Opening the show is Sobi, who counts Damien Rice and Laura Marling among her main musical influences. In 2012 Sobi released her debut EP, Betty la Guapa, and has recently been working on another EP, due for release in the near future.
