We’re delighted to be working with Simone Felice once again – this time performing as a duo.

Simone-Felice-Burgess-Foundation-Manchester

Celebrated Catskill Mountain songwriter Simone Felice (The Felice Brothers, The Duke & The King) returns for a special string of intimate, acoustic dates accompanied by the stellar Anna Mitchell on harmonium, piano and vocal harmony.

Expect mesmerising renditions of songs from the recent highly acclaimed Strangers LP, plus a wealth of Simone’s beloved back catalogue.

‘With two critically acclaimed novellas to his name, Felice has an unabashedly literary sensibility, and a particular knack for taking intimate personal narratives and widening them so they hint at the musical equivalent of the great American novel’ – The Telegraph, 5*

‘Felice gravitates between often fearless songwriting and meandering melodies that wouldn’t be out of place on Astral Weeks. Yep – that good’ – Irish Times, 4*

Support comes from Dan Whitehouse, whose new album, Raw State, features some of the songwriter’s best material – head and heart music, rooted in the human condition. Produced by Danny George Wilson and Chris Clarke (from Danny and the Champions of the World), the collection also a significant collaboration with pedal steel legend BJ Cole.

This show takes place at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation, a charity that encourages and supports public and scholarly interest in all aspects of the life and work of Anthony Burgess, the late novelist (best known for A Clockwork Orange), poet, playwright, composer, linguist, translator and critic. The foundation, situated just off Oxford Road, features a fully licensed cafe-bar and an engine room, which will host this concert.
