Sun Kil Moon, Roadhouse, ManchesterSince 1989, Ohio songwriter Mark Kozelek has recorded six studio albums with slowcore legends Red House Painters, plus four solo albums and three with his current band Sun Kil Moon.

Named after Korean boxer Sung-Kil Moon, Kozelek’s latest project features American Music Club member Tim Mooney on guitar, former Red House Painters drummer Anthony Koutsos and Black Lab bassist Geoff Stanfield. Their third and most recent album, April (8.3/10 – Pitchfork), features Will Oldham and Death Cab’s Ben Gibbard on guest vocals, and was again released on Kozelek’s own label, Caldo Verde. Read an interview with Ben and Mark here.

This Manchester debut by the full Sun Kil Moon live band follows Kozelek’s much-anticipated solo performance at the Dancehouse Theatre late last year.

Support comes from Australian Darren Hanlon, fresh from his tour support slot with the Magnetic Fields. You should check him out here.
